Now that you have chosen a domain name it’s time to decide whether you want a website or a blog. It really depends on what you plan on doing. If you have decided to use a blog you will need to keep in mind that WordPress will assign their own extension onto your domain name. As an example www.joesrepairs.com will become www.joesrepairs.com/wordpress/blog . Essentially, your blog doesn’t really belong to you. It is the property of WordPress and will have some very definite limitations on the types of plugins you have available to you. You will be able to choose from hundreds of themes and can even upload themes you’ve gotten from other sites. In addition, the Widgets that you are allowed to use are very basic and stationary. But, if all you want to do is blog and don’t care that you do not own the site, then this would be an option for you.

The other option is WordPress.org. With this type of account you can use Ecommerce for purchases that your customers may want to make. You own the site and the domain. There is no extension beyond your domain name and you have unlimited access to plugins, widgets and themes from within and outside of WordPress.

Let’s say that you require a deposit for certain services, these can be arranged right on your site. Also, just the pure fact that you own your site is a relief. You will need to find a hosting service for your site. This can be acquired through sites like PDR Marketing Pros, and others. With sites like 3rd Street Marketing, not only will they host your site but they can also create and develop it for you so that you don’t have to be bothered. It’s entirely up to you.

I am of course assuming that you will choose to use WordPress. WordPress is by unanimous vote, the best site to use for both types. They are superior to their competition and there is a great deal more support available to you. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact us at Learn Dent Repair, we’re here to help.
